Eight Hundred Leagues on the Amazon ~ Jules Verne - I don't have a copy of this Verne classic, but now I do on my phone. Perfect! I do, however, have a paper copy of Around The World In Eighty Days (also available for free here), and it's sitting on my bookshelf waiting patiently to be read 🤦♀️
Pride and Prejudice ~ Jane Austen - I have this in hardback, but I like it so much that I think it's worth having a digital copy for when I'm out and about.
The Time Machine ~ H.G.Wells - I have read Wells' The Invisible Man (also available for free here) and loved it, and I also have paperback copies of The Food of the Gods and War of the Worlds but I'd like to have this copy too.
Edgar Allan Poe: The Complete Collection - Grab this copy for free now so you will have for it when you want some gothic, spooky tales!
Jane Eyre ~ Charlotte Bronte - Because we should all have a copy of this brilliant book, whether it be in paper or digital.
Anne of Green Gables ~ L.M. Montgomery - Anne Shirley's story never goes out of style, and there are still so many lessons for us to learn from her cheerful and positive nature. You can read more on her here.
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court ~ Mark Twain - The children and I enjoyed this as an abridged classic. Now I can read the whole thing. For free.
Lady Chatterley's Lover ~ D.H. Lawrence - I read this many years ago, intrigued by the controversy it had garnered. I wouldn't mind reading it again.
A Tale of Two Cities ~ Charles Dickens - Definitely worth owning in digital format if only so you don't have to lug it around with you!
Wuthering Heights ~ Emily Bronte - Like Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre this is such a favourite of mine that it's worth having a portable copy.
The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes ~ Arthur Conan Doyle - Classic!
The Great Gatsby ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald - This is such a great read that if you haven't already read it (or read it years ago in high school!) then why not grab it today for free?
Poems by Walt Whitman - I'm so excited to have grabbed this one for free. I think I'll be starting with this one 🙂
Rikki-Tikki-Tavi ~ Rudyard Kipling - Another one we used to love to read with the children.
Dracula - Bram Stoker - Please read this if you haven't already.
Frankenstein - Mary Shelley - And this. It is one of my all-time favourites. There is so much beauty in this dark book.
I think this might be enough to get us started, but if you're interested I'm happy to search for more and put together another list of freebies. If there are any here that you would like to grab for free, then make a cup of tea, head over to Amazon (this is not a sponsored post by the way), and let us know in the comments what has tickled your fancy.
Happy reading!
